About John Byrnes and SROI

John is the Founder and Principal of Community Services Analysis LLC, a company dedicated to helping Non-Profit organizations measure their value and efficiency through conducting Social Return on Investment (SROI) analysis projects.

SROI is an approach to measuring and understanding both the current and future financial impact of an organization. SROI is more comprehensive as it measures both direct financial values of projected actions and longer term social impacts resulting from these actions.

Byrnes has been the CEO of Lenders-RE, a lending reinsurance and corporate finance guarantee source for the technology, natural resource, and health care industries. He has been the founder and CEO of four venture capital funded technology companies. These include Intertul and BHR Software, which were both winners of national technology awards including Technology of the Year from Industry Week.


He has been President of Marker Group, a consulting company specializing in financial management for technology companies. He has also been Vice President of Finance and Administration for ATCO Manufacturing Company, and IT Manager for a large engineering contracting company. He has BS degrees in Accounting and Computer Information Science from California State University.

He also has been a Certified Public Accountant and has been a member of the Board of Directors of numerous companies, including Colorado Venture Capital Corporation. He is also active in community affairs as the President of the Pima Library Foundation in Tucson, AZ and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Arizona Humanities Council.

Arizona Evaluation Network is a non-profit 501(C)6 organization dedicated to supporting and strengthening a vibrant community of aspiring and established Arizona-based program evaluators by promoting meaningful connections, elevating the evaluation field across Arizona, and facilitating continuous learning.
