Open call for Flash Talks & Posters at AZENet Annual Meeting April 3, 2020

Dear Colleagues,

AZENet wants to feature your work in evaluation for AZENet’s 2020 Annual Meeting, held in Tucson, AZ on April 3rd, 2020. This year’s meeting will feature brief, engaging presentations by evaluators in either a poster/tabletop or Flash Talk (5 minute) format. By offering these two formats, we seek to showcase more of the work conducted by the AZENet membership and offer alternative formats to be creative with.

The topical rage is open – abstracts may be submitted in areas that are important to your work in evaluation. Topics can be related to this year’s theme – Communication, Facilitation, & Interpersonal Effectiveness: Core Competencies – or focused on the variety of other aspects important to evaluation and learning. Abstract topics may also include overview of interesting evaluations you have conducted.

Timeline

  • Closing date for abstract submissions - Friday January 31, 2019 3:00pm MT
  • Notification of acceptance -  Friday February 21, 2020
  • Workshop on tips & tricks for flash talks & posters – Early March - TBD

Directions for Abstract Submission

Use this link to submit abstracts as well as your preferred presentation format of poster/table top or flash talk (5 minutes, maximum of 5 slides). Questions may be submitted to professionaldevelopment@azenet.org with “AZENET 2020 Abstract” in the subject line. Abstracts will be peer-reviewed by a minimum of two reviewers.

Suggested Abstract Format (400 words or less)

  • Introduction – Describe the rationale for conducting this work and the objective/question being addressed
  • Methods – Provide an overview of the methods used to assess/address this objective/question
  • Findings – Describe the findings that answer the objective/question introduced
  • Conclusion – Provide a take-away for your audience, and if applicable, the next steps to further this work.
